4/10/2024 0 Comments Intensity of light equationFor this, the short-circuit current (I SC) of each diode has to be taken from the data sheet and subsequently the sensitivity, S (pA/lux), at the operating points determined from it. However, the relative sensitivities of the red, green, and blue diodes are different, so the gain of each stage must be determined separately through the feedback resistance R FB. Characteristic curves of current to light intensity for red, green, and blue photodiodes. The light intensity measured via the photodiodes can now be used to control the light source according to the requirements of the respective plants.įigure 2. Here, three differently colored photodiodes (green, red, and blue) are used, which respond to different wavelengths. By controlling parts of the spectrum and the intensity of light exposure throughout various life stages, growth can be maximized, and the yield ultimately increased.Ī corresponding circuit design for measuring the light intensity over the visible spectrum, in which plants are photosynthetically active, is shown in Figure 1. As a rule, light in the wavelengths of the green and yellow regions of the spectrum is reflected and contributes only slightly to growth. Most plants usually absorb light in the wavelengths of the red, orange, blue, and violet regions of the visible spectrum. Light is thereby one of the most important factors in smart agriculture. Here, one key task is to monitor and control important plant parameters that contribute to maximizing plant growth and accelerating photosynthesis. In the era of the Internet of Things (IoT), however, light intensity also plays an important role in so-called smart agriculture. Use photodiodes which are sensitive to red, green, and blue light.ĭetermination of the light intensity can be crucial, for example, if you want to design the lighting of a room, or in preparing for a photo shoot. How could I measure the light intensity of different light sources? After doing this to the top and bottom, 5 on each side, I saved the “Grill Lines” image.Ī MixRGB node on Add combined the Grill Lines Image Texture with the Noise Texture before feeding the result into the Color Ramp. With Texture Paint, I used the Stroke with method Line and held down Alt as I clicked to drag a line across the top of the patty. I marked a seam on the underside of the patty in a circle and unwrapped the UVs. To sear in the grill lines, I added an Image Texture node, created a new image named “Grill Lines” and selected this node with Node Wrangler to see only its effect on the patty. You can barely see it, but I went to the effort of adding grill lines to the patty.Īdding Grill Lines to the Texture by Default Cube Here is a screenshot of the burger in Eevee. A Mix shader was used to combined the Glossy and Principled shaders, and a Layer Weight node plugged into the Fac of the Mix Shader allowed control over the gloss based on which normals were facing the camera. I set the noise texture to influence the bump of this Glossy shader. The second, which I preferred in the end, began by adding a Glossy shader. The first was to allow a noise texture to influence the roughness in the Principled shader as in the tutorial by Default Cube. To get the oily effect on the surface of the meat, I played around with two methods. Texturing the Patty by Sanctus – Blender Procedural My first attempt used an image texture for everything from diffuse color to bump, but since the image lacked the quality I wanted, I eventually turned to procedural methods. Yes, look at that yummy clay! It was really coming along nicely. Lowering the Midlevel eliminated the strange horizontal distortion around the perimeter of the patty. Fiddling with the Size of the texture and the Strength of the modifier got me something I liked. I subdivided the patty by two again, and then added a Displace modifier with a Cloud texture. My next step involved making the patty lumpy. Modeling the Patty by Sanctus – Blender Procedural Applying the modifier before rendering corrected this issue. Later, this Shrink Wrap modifier would causing my render to be completely black and empty. Then, I sized up the torus so that it just contained that first shape, subdivided the whole thing by two, and added a Shrink Wrap modifier to match the outline of the first shape perfectly. The proportional editing tool allowed me to deform the torus to roughly match my first shape. I deleted all vertices in the inner loop of the torus and used Grid Fill on the top and bottom to close the inner hole. I started with a torus this time, chose just enough major segments to match my shape and limited the minor segments to 6. I ended up with a shape I liked, but the topology was not distributed evenly enough for the Displace modifier I planned to use next. I meshed by first attempt at a burger patty by starting with a cylinder and following reference photos. But what is a burger without meat? Modeling Burger On The Grill Part 4: Building a Burger–Perfect PattyĪfter completing the donut tutorial by BlenderGuru, I was challenged to create something similar by myself, so I chose to make a burger. 4/10/2024 0 Comments Sound diffraction curve radiusCircular motion is when an object moves in a circular path. We will discuss specifically circular motion and spin. We can only see this if the light falls onto a screen and is scattered into our eyes. What exactly do we mean by circular motion or rotation? Rotational motion is the circular motion of an object about an axis of rotation. These waves overlap and interfere constructively (bright lines) and destructively (dark regions). (a) Light spreads out (diffracts) from each slit because the slits are narrow. Practical Constructive and Destructive Wave Interference: Double slits produce two coherent sources of waves that interfere. It should be noted that this example uses a single, monochromatic wavelength, which is not common in real life a more practical example is shown in. This cancels out any wave and results in no light. Destructive wave interference occurs when waves interfere with each other crest-to-trough (peak-to-valley) and are exactly out of phase with each other. Without diffraction and interference, the light would simply make two lines on the screen.Ĭonstructive and Destructive Wave InterferenceĬonstructive wave interference occurs when waves interfere with each other crest-to-crest (peak-to-peak) or trough-to-trough (valley-to-valley) and the waves are exactly in phase with each other. Young’s Double Slit Experiment: Light is sent through two vertical slits and is diffracted into a pattern of vertical lines spread out horizontally. The pattern that resulted can be seen in. In his experiment, he sent light through two closely spaced vertical slits and observed the resulting pattern on the wall behind them. People did not accept the theory that light was a wave until 1801, when English physicist Thomas Young performed his double-slit experiment. Newton felt that color, interference, and diffraction effects needed a better explanation. But some people disagreed with him, most notably Isaac Newton. As we discussed in the atom about the Huygens principle, Christiaan Huygens proved in 1628 that light was a wave. The double-slit experiment, also called Young’s experiment, shows that matter and energy can display both wave and particle characteristics. Explain why Young’s experiment more credible than Huygens’.The direction of propagation is perpendicular to the wavefront, as shown by the downward-pointing arrows. The tangent to these wavelets shows that the new wavefront has been reflected at an angle equal to the incident angle. The wavelets shown were emitted as each point on the wavefront struck the mirror. Reflection: Huygens’s principle applied to a straight wavefront striking a mirror. The ray bends toward the perpendicular, since the wavelets have a lower speed in the second medium. Huygens’s Refraction: Huygens’s principle applied to a straight wavefront traveling from one medium to another where its speed is less. shows visually how Huygens’s Principle can be used to explain reflection, and shows how it can be applied to refraction. The principle is helpful in describing reflection, refraction and interference. This principle works for all wave types, not just light waves. The new wavefront is tangent to the wavelets. The emitted waves are semicircular, and occur at t, time later. Where s is the distance, v is the propagation speed, and t is time.Įach point on the wavefront emits a wave at speed, v. Figures will therefore fluctuate each week, and totals for individual titles can go up or down as we update our estimates.īecause sales figures are estimated based on sampling, they will be more accurate for higher-selling titles. In particular, we adjust weekly sales figures for the quarter once the total market estimates are published by the Digital Entertainment Group. We refine our estimates from week to week as more data becomes available. The consumer spending estimate is based on the average sales price for the title in the retailers we survey. The market share is converted into a weekly sales estimate based on industry reports on the overall size of the market, including reports published in Media Play News.įor example, if our weekly retail survey estimates that a particular title sold 1% of all units that week, and the industry reports sales of 1,500,000 units in total, we will estimate 15,000 units were sold of that title. Our DVD and Blu-ray sales estimates are based on weekly retail surveys, which we use to build a weekly market share estimate for each title we are tracking. The cockpit view makes you feel as though you’re actually inside the plane. A view based on Google Earth has been used since spring 2013. The transmitted location data of the aircraft in question is correlated with further information about the aircraft type and route, and is displayed on a map. Most modern civil aviation aircraft – and some military aircraft – today are equipped with these devices. The signals emitted by ADS-B transmitters are received by ground-based ADS-B receivers and transmitted to the Flightradar24 network over the Internet for radar spotting purposes. The real-time aircraft location information shown here for flight tracking purposes is an online service provided by, which is operated by Stockholm-based sky scanner company Flightradar24 AB. Where does the flight tracking data come from? At the very bottom you will see the latitude and longitude. You will also find additional data, such as altitude, airspeed and information about the flight radar. Here you will find information about the route, the departure and arrival times as well as the current flight status. The details in the grey area are relevant for flight tracking. Below the picture, you will once again see the aircraft name and the airline. There may be several pictures of the same aircraft type. At the top, you will see the type of aircraft and, if you click on the image, you can view the aircraft image in full-screen mode. If you click on the aircraft, a menu opens to the left of the flight radar. If you want to track a flight, you simply place the cursor over a yellow plane and the flight number will be displayed. Just make sure that your fingers are not too close to each other. It’s very easy to use you can move the flight radar with two fingers, zooming in or out. Whether you use an Apple iPhone or Samsung Galaxy, the flight tracker information can be viewed on any device, including Internet-enabled tablets. You can of course also view the flightradar.live flight tracker on your mobile phone. If you want to move the airspace, one click is enough simply hold down the mouse to move the map. To zoom in or out of the flight radar, you can adjust your view by clicking the “+” or “-” sign in the top left corner. Depending on which page you have selected, flightradar.live will show you either part of Europe or an airport for flight tracking. Below we give you some tips on how to start tracking flights using the above map. That really slowed the creative process down and made using the app a bit frustrating. It crashed several times when we were testing and, when it did work, it took a really, really long time to load images and apply effects. Unfortunately, using the app wasn’t quite as good in practice. From this point of view, PicsArt’s great. PicsArt has a fun website with lots of challenges, and vibrant, active, and huge social media following for you to get involved with. You can definitely make really great images to share on social media and the PicsArt network, even if it does take you a while to really master it. Is it any good?įrom a theoretical point of view, PicsArt is a really creative app that will give arty types hours of fun. In fact, there are so many features that you’re probably going to have to spend a pretty long time getting to know them all. Some features are premium-only but from within the app, it’s not clear which until you click them. There are standard editing features, like crop, resize, and add text, as well as adding stickers and filters, lens flare, runout, motion, clone, and more. PicsArt’s editing tools focus on the fun aspect more than the serious graphic design side, but you can still get pretty creative. Apart from that, there is a world of features that will let you make some awesome art. This makes it much easier to do pretty impressive things with the app. The most important part is that the editor supports layers, like Photoshop. There’s no end to the options you have for editing your images in PicsArt - that’s what makes the learning curve so steep. What kind of edits can you make with PicsArt? Once you’re happy with the final product, you can save it to your computer, share it with a variety of Microsoft-based apps, or share it with the PicsArt community. You’ll see layout options to the left and bottom, and you’ll be able to make changes to the appearance of the collage via the configuration options on the right. PicsArt Collage is a little more simple - but only just. Underneath this main image is the options available within the choice you’ve just made and, to the left, you can edit or select the layers you want to use. The options available to you are located to the left of the main image. Prepare to be overwhelmed - PicsArt Editor has a pretty steep learning curve. Once you’ve chosen an image, the editor or collage maker will launch. This can be from your computer, from their library of free images, an image you’ve already saved to your profile, or even an image from Facebook or Instagram, although these are probably easier to choose if you’re using PicsArt on mobile. Once you start to use the app, it will prompt you to pick an image. At the very top of the window are your settings and profile buttons - both of these are very basic. The main interface is taken up by an assortment of bright and eye-catching images, with the options of Editor and Collage at the top. PicsArt looks great, which is just as well for an photo apps. Once you’ve signed in, you’ll then have to set up an account, picking a username and password. Once it installs, you’ll have to sign in, which you can do by signing up with an email address or via a number of sign-in services. It’s also available for Android and iPhone. PicsArt is available as an app for Windows 10, so you’ll have to download it via the Microsoft Store. The PicsArt download and installation process |
